Welcome, The Ship

We are elated to reveal our latest development at The Ship in Cambridge.

The community pub, which was unfortunately been closed since the pandemic has had a significant investment to give it a complete makeover and see the much-loved pub return back to its local community.

The refurbishment includes a completely new look with a carefully and considered plan from MRP Architects who has reconfigured the original police station to resemble a great, community pub with plenty of space for drinking and dining. The pub now boasts a great space for pub games such as pool and darts and an array of screens that are perfect for watching the sport.

Chris Reed FBII, Retail Development Manager for Wells & Co. said, “This truly is a transformation. The pub needed a lot of love, care and attention and we have done just that. The newly configured bar area is looking great and it’s a fantastic space for watching the live sport especially with the upcoming tournament to look forward to.”

The site will reopen with a brand-new food menu full of great pub classics, as well as fantastic collection of wines, spirits and minerals and fresh, cask ale brewed just down the road in Bedford at our award-winning brewery, Brewpoint.

Mo & Andy Hallam, the new landlord and landlady of the pub can’t wait to take their hard hat and high-vis off as they prepare to reopen the doors at the end from the end of this week. The pub holds a very personal connection, dear to their hearts as this was the venue of their marriage over 10 years ago.

Mo, landlady of the pub said, “We are very pleased and excited to say that we are coming home to The Ship in October as most of the Ship customers will know. The Ship is undergoing a complete transformation and it is nothing short of wow - amazing. Its fresh, it’s all new, it’s incredible. We are very excited to be returning to the pub once again and look forward to welcoming back new and old customers, friends, and family.”

The pub will officially reopen on Thursday 27 October.

Cheers, Andy & Mo.
